
This opportunity will allow each participant to be able to continue to teach AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) level CPR/AED and HS (Heartsaver) level (otherwise known as Layrescuer) CPR/AED and FIRST AID and BBP. BBP is the annual OSHA-required bloodborne pathogen awareness education for ALL places of employment.
In order to renew as an AHA BLS (CPR/AED/FIRST AID/BBP) Instructor, there are two mandates. For all intents and purposes, both are national completion requirements according to the American Heart Association.
1) As a current AHA BLS Instructor, you have your name recorded on four AHA BLS rosters over the last two years.
- Any four rosters could be where you are leading or assisting.
- Any four rosters could be a BLS or HS course.
- Any four rosters could be a CPR/AED or FIRST AID course.
- Any four rosters could be an initial or renewal course.
2) As a current AHA BLS Instructor, you renew your knowledge and skills.
​Upon successful completion of BOTH mandates, the candidate will receive their new AHA BLS Instructor Certification Card.
